You run the Windows Remote Management (WS-Management) service on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.
You have an application or service that uses the WSMan event forwarding to collect events on the computer.
You configure the Client Certificate-basedauthentication method on the computer.
In this scenario, the memory usage of the WS-Management service keeps increasing. After a while, the available memory is exhausted on the computer. Therefore, the application or service that is running on the computer crashes or stops responding.
Note The WS-Management service runs in a Svchost.exe process. To obtain the ID of the svchost.exe process, type the following command at a command prompt, and then press ENTER:
This issue occurs because the WSMan provider does not release allocated memory for some variables when the provider handles certificate authentication requests.
