SYMPTOMSCertain Microsoft Outlook client applications experience connectivity issues when many Microsoft Exchange RPC Client Access service threads on a public folder are waiting for responses from the Availability service. For example, this issue occurs when there are more than 500 threads waiting for responses on a public folder. Notes
CAUSEThis issue occurs because of a new feature in Exchange Server 2010 SP1. This new feature uses the Microsoft Exchange RPC Client Access service as a proxy for earlier versions of the Availability service (free/busy information). Therefore, if you have a public folder installed on an Exchange Server 2010 SP1 server, the free/busy information requests will be intercepted by the Microsoft Exchange RPC Client Access service. RESOLUTIONRegistry key informationImportant This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.
