FIX: "E-Mail Policy - Configuration Reapplied" alerts occur when the content of a File filter or a Message Body filter is removed in a Forefront Threat Management Gateway 2010 environment

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • You run Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway (TMG) 2010 on a server that is running Windows Server 2008 R2.
  • You enable the Email Protection feature in the Forefront TMG 2010 environment.
  • You remove the content of a File filter or a Message Body filter by using the Forefront TMG Management console

In this scenario, you receive the following recurring alerts in TMG monitoring:
E-Mail Policy - Configuration Reapplied.

Additionally, the following event is logged in the Application log:

Description:
Forefront TMG detected changes in Microsoft Exchange Server or Microsoft Forefront Protection configuration, and reapplied the e-mail policy configuration on server 'server_name'.
