Introduction
This article describes an update that fixes two Report Viewer functionality issues that occur after you install Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1 (SP1). These issues also occur when you use the Report Viewer control in Microsoft Report Viewer 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package.
Issues fixed by this update
Issue 1
Consider the following scenario:
-
You display a report on a webpage by using Microsoft Report Viewer 2010 SP1 in Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 or Microsoft Visual Studio 2008.
-
You configure the ReportViewer control to process the report remotely. Or, you configure the ReportViewer control to run a local report (an RDLC file).
-
You enable the AccessibleTablix setting for the report. This setting is an HTML device information setting.
In this scenario, the column header ID incorrectly contains prefix information. Therefore, the header tag of each row does not match the column header ID. When this issue occurs, the column header of the report cannot be pronounced by the Job Access With Speech software (JAWS, also known as the "screen reader" software). This issue violates Section 508 standards. Note JAWS is a software program that makes Windows-based personal computers accessible to blind and visually impaired users. It does this by giving the user access to the information that is displayed on the screen through text-to-speech functionality.
Issue 2
Go to Report (drillthrough) actions do not work on a Windows forms application that uses the Report Viewer 2010 SP1 control after you install Visual Studio 2010 SP1.
