SUMMARY

Cumulative update packages for Microsoft Project Server 2010 contain hotfixes for the Project Server 2010 issues that were fixed since the release of Project Server 2010.

Note This is build 14.0.6109.5005 of the cumulative update package.

We recommend that you test hotfixes before you deploy them in a production environment. Because the builds are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and security updates that were included with the previous Project Server 2010 update package releases.

Important notes about the cumulative update package

The Microsoft Office 2010 hotfixes are now multilingual. This cumulative update package contains updates for all languages.
This cumulative update package includes all the server component packages. Additionally, this cumulative update package updates only those components that are installed on the system.

Known issue 1

After you install this hotfix, you must restart the User Profile Synchronization Service for profile synchronization to work correctly.

Workaround

To work around this issue, follow these steps:

Visit Central Administration.
Click Manage Services on the System Settings section.
Find User Profile Synchronization Service in the list of services and then click Stop if its status is Started. Click Start and provide the credentials to start the User Profile Synchronization Service as soon as its status is Stopped.

Project Server 2010 hotfixes that are included in the cumulative update package for Project Server 2010

This cumulative update package contains all the .msp files that we released as hotfixes or as public updates that target Project Server 2010. This update package also targets SharePoint Server 2010 and SharePoint Foundation 2010. Therefore, you do not have to install those packages separately.

To install this hotfix, you must have Microsoft Project Server 2010, Microsoft Project Server 2010 Service Pack 1, Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010, Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 Service Pack 1, Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010 or Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010 Service Pack 1 installed.
