FIX: The text of an XPS document is printed in a different font when you use the XpsDocumentWriter class in a Windows Presentation Foundation application that targets to the .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1

Consider the following scenario:

• You use the XpsDocumentWriter class in a Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) application that targets to the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 (SP1).
• You print an XML Paper Specification (XPS) document that contains the MS Gothic font.

In this scenario, the text in the printed file uses a different font, such as a Chinese font.

This problem occurs because of a problem in the matching logic of the GDI font selection API.

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.

Note The .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 contains the .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 2 (SP2).
