SYMPTOMS

The Camera tool performs slowly in Microsoft Office Excel 2007 when you use a zoom setting other than 100 percent in a workbook. Additionally, Office Excel 2007 runs slowly when you open the workbook or move a shape in the workbook.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, apply the following update:

After you install the hotfix package, follow these steps to enable the hotfix:

Let me fix it myself

Follow these steps to enable the hotfix:
  1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
  2. Locate and then select the following registry subkey:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Excel\Options
  3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD (32-bit) value.
  4. Type DedicatedCameraOnZoom, and then press ENTER.
  5. In the Details pane, right-click DedicatedCameraOnZoom, and then click Modify.
  6. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
  7. Exit Registry Editor.
