Summary
This article describes the Microsoft Outlook 2010 issues that are fixed in the hotfix package that is dated December 13, 2011.
INTRODUCTION
Issues that this hotfix package fixes
-
Consider the following scenario. You create a recurring all-day event and set its end date in a Microsoft SharePoint calendar. Then, you synchronize the SharePoint calendar with Outlook 2010. In this situation, an additional all-day event instance is displayed after the end date in the Outlook 2010 calendar.
-
Consider the following scenario:
-
You create a recurring meeting that has several attendees in Outlook 2010.
-
You add a Meeting Workspace to the recurring meeting.
-
You remove an attendee from a meeting instance of the recurring meeting.
You are currently working with Outlook offline. To update the attendees in the Meeting Workspace, you must have a local copy of the Address Book installed. Either download the Address Book with the Full details option selected, and then send the meeting update or use Outlook online.
-
-
Assume that you set a .pst file as the default delivery location for email messages and the .pst file is in American National Standards Institute (ANSI) format. When you send an email message in HTML format to yourself in Outlook 2010, the body of the email message is blank.
-
You cannot download an offline address book that is larger than 2 GB in Outlook 2010.
-
When you try to view the properties of a shared calendar in a shared mailbox, the Permission Level under the Permission tab in the Calendar Properties dialog box is set to None. However, it should be set to Free/Busy time, subject, location.
-
Outlook 2010 does not start correctly and does not show any windows. Additionally, there are Outlook.exe processes running in the Windows Task Manager task list.
-
Consider the following scenario:
-
User A configures his contact to use several certificates.
-
User A uses one of these certificates to send an email message to user B.
-
User B opens the email message and then right clicks the Add to Outlook Contacts command on user A’s email address.
-
User A uses another certificate to send a second email message to user B.
-
User B opens the second email message and then right clicks the Add to Outlook Contacts command on user A’s email address.
-
User B opens user A’s contact to see the available certificates.
-
-
When you click the Advanced Find command on the Search Tools tab and then search for certain text in a folder which contains many items in Outlook 2010, the Stop button is disabled. Additionally, the magnifying glass icon is not animated.
-
Consider the following scenario. You select the Show as Conversations check box in Outlook 2010. Then, you copy two conversations which both contain several email messages and paste them into a file system folder. In this situation, not all the email messages are copied into the file system folder. Additionally, all the email messages in the file system folder are displayed incorrectly with the first conversation name of the two conversations that you copied from Outlook 2010.
-
Consider the following scenario:
-
You select the Show as Conversations check box in Outlook 2010.
-
You right-click a conversation and point to Move. Then, you click the Always Move Messages in This Conversation command.
-
You select an archive folder that is stored online as a destination folder.
-
You receive an email message in the conversation.
-
You open the email message in the archive folder.
-
-
When several reminders are set in Outlook 2010, and you dismiss all the reminders, some reminders are not removed as expected.
-
When you use Outlook 2010 in online mode to search for items in your archive mailbox, you cannot preview any of the items in the search results in the preview pane. Additionally, you receive the following error message in the preview pane:
This item cannot be display in the reading pane. Open the item to read its content.
-
Consider the following scenario:
-
You have an online Exchange mailbox
-
You navigate to the Scope group on the Search tab in Outlook 2010.
-
You click All Mail Items to search for an email message.
-
-
You cannot use a Group Policy to set permissions on the Info pane in Outlook 2010.
-
Outlook 2010 removes the plain text format parts from an email message that is in MIME format. This issue specifically occurs when the email message contains both plain text format parts and HTML format parts.
-
Consider the following scenario:
-
You create a meeting request in Outlook 2010.
-
You add many attendees whose mailboxes are located on different mailbox stores on a Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 server.
-
You click Scheduling Assistant.
-
-
Outlook 2010 does not work correctly when the Automatically adjust clock for Daylight Saving Time check box for the operating system is cleared.
-
Assume that you receive an email message in Outlook 2010 that is in MIME format and contains a Quoted-Printable UTF8 attachment. When you open the attachment, the text in the attachment is corrupted.
-
Assume that you receive an email message in Outlook 2010 that contains a Microsoft Office file. When you save the file to a local disk, the file is saved incorrectly with a FILE_ATTRIBUTE_TEMPORARY flag.
-
Consider the following scenario:
-
User A adds user B as a delegate of user A in Outlook 2010.
-
User A enables the Delegate can see my private items setting.
-
User A creates a private appointment item in the calendar.
-
User B logs on to user A’s mailbox and can see the private appointment item.
-
User A removes user B as a delegate of user A.
-
-
When you print preview a calendar in Month view in Outlook 2010, some words in the Subject line are separated and displayed on two lines.
-
When you create a meeting request, add an external recipient in the To field, and then switch to the Schedule Assistant, Outlook 2010 stops responding.
-
2597037 "The operation failed" error message when you try to book a resource mailbox from a shared calendar by using Outlook 2010
-
2597028 Smart cards are not supported in Outlook 2010 when you access your mailbox by using Outlook Anywhere (RPC/HTTP)
-
2596959 Your SMTP address is incorrect when you log on to Outlook 2010
