"Cannot download the information you requested" error in SSRS 2008 when you click a drillthrough report link

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:

You install Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services (SSRS 2008) on a computer.
You add a drillthrough report link to a report. The link targets another report.
You set some nullable parameters that are passed to the drillthrough report, and the value of a parameter is null.
You export the report that contains the drillthrough report link to a Word document or to an Excel worksheet.
You click the drillthrough report link.

In this scenario, you receive the following error message:

Cannot download the information you requested.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because the export operation generates the drillthrough report link incorrectly.

The SQL Server 2008 builds that were released after SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 3 was released

Microsoft SQL Server 2008 hotfixes are created for specific SQL Server service packs. You must apply a SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 3 hotfix to an installation of SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 3. By default, any hotfix that is provided in a SQL Server service pack is included in the next SQL Server service pack.
