FIX: A memory leak may occur when a custom user control in Silverlight is created and removed in Windows Embedded Compact 7 System Tip This article applies to a different operating system than the one you are using. Article content that may not be relevant to you is disabled.
Consider the following scenario:
You run an application in Windows Embedded Compact 7. The application creates an instance of a custom user control in Silverlight for Windows Embedded. You change the visual state of the user control. You remove the user control. In this scenario, a memory leak occurs. When this issue occurs for some time, the system may run out of memory.
Notes The visual state is the way the user control appears in a particular state. You can attach the Resource Leak Detector tool to the application to detect the memory leak. Software update information A supported software update is now available from Microsoft as
Windows Embedded Compact 7 Monthly Update December 2011 . In the "File information" section, the package file name contains the processor type.

Prerequisites This update is supported only if all previously issued updates for this product have also been installed.
Restart requirement After you apply this update, you must perform a clean build of the whole platform. To do this, use one of the following methods:
On the Build menu, click Clean Solution , and then click Build Solution . On the Build menu, click Rebuild Solution . You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this software update.
Update replacement information This update does not replace any other updates.
