You cannot copy the Inbox folder to another folder and the Exchange RPC Client Access service crashes on an Exchange Server 2010 Client Access serverArticle ID: 2673087 - View products that this article applies to. SYMPTOMSConsider the following scenario:
Cannot move or copy folders. Cannot copy folder. A top-level folder cannot be copied to one of its subfolders. Or you may not have appropriate permissions for the folder. To check your permissions for the folder, right-click the folder, and then click Properties on the shortcut menu. Additionally, the Microsoft Exchange RPC Client Access service crashes on the Exchange Server 2010 Client Access server. In this situation, the following events are logged in the event log on the Exchange Server 2010 Client Access server: Log Name: System Source: Service Control Manager Date: Date Event ID: 7031 Task Category: None Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: Computer Description: The Microsoft Exchange RPC Client Access service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 5000 milliseconds: Restart the service. Log Name: Application Source: MSExchange Common Date: Date Event ID: 4999 Task Category: General Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: Computer Description: Watson report about to be sent for process id: Process ID, with parameters: E12, Build type, Version, M.E.RpcClientAccess.Service, M.E.Data.Storage, M.E.D.S.CoreObject.ProcessCopyPropertyProblems, System.IndexOutOfRangeException, XXXX, Version. CAUSEThis issue occurs because an access denied error occurs when the remote procedure call (RPC) Client Access service tries to copy the rule size property of the Inbox folder to the target folder. In this situation, the RPC Client Access service does not handle the error correctly and crashes. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, install the following update rollup: 2661854
