When you resume a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 from sleep, USB composite devices that are connected to the computer do not enter selective suspend mode. This issue causes the computer to consume excessive power and occurs even though every child device in the composite device sends idle I/O request packets (IRPs) successfully.
This issue is caused by a race condition that occurs in the power-up path of a functional device object (FDO) when multiple device power-up IRPs are handled.
