Symptoms

Consider the following scenario: You set up the data refresh schedule of PowerPivot for SharePoint in Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Analysis Services (SSAS 2012), and the Also refresh as soon as possible option is selected. In this scenario, data refresh runs only one time unexpectedly.

Note You do not receive error messages when this issue occurs.

Cause

This issue occurs because a scheduled interval job is not runnable.

When the Also refresh as soon as possible option is selected, two jobs are created. One is the "run immediately" job, and the other is the interval job. Usually, the interval is set as runnable after the "run immediately" job finishes. However, the interval job is not set as runnable in SSAS 2012. Therefore, the issue that is described in "Symptoms" section occurs.
