Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • User A turns on the Automatic Replies (Out of Office) feature in a Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 environment. Then, user A specifies an end time for the Out of Office message.

  • User B logs on to a mailbox by using Outlook Web App and then selects a non-English language in Regional Settings.

  • User B creates a new email message and then adds user A as a recipient.

In this scenario, user B receives MailTips that display the day of the week in English instead of in the language that user B selected in Outlook Web App.

For example, if user B selects German in Regional Settings, user B receives MailTips that contain the text "DisplayName Enddatum der automatischen Antwort: Saturday 31.12.2011 10:00 Automatische Antwort: OOFText" instead of the text "DisplayName Enddatum der automatischen Antwort: Samstag 31.12.2011 10:00 Automatische Antwort: OOFText."

Cause

This issue occurs because the attribute for the day of the week in the Out of Office message is converted to a string. However, the string is not localized correctly.
