Symptoms
Assume that you use the Multi-Mailbox Search feature to perform a discovery search in a Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 environment. The search keywordscontain multiple logical operators, such as OR and AND. In this situation, the Multi-Mailbox Search feature returns incorrect results.
For example, a search for the keyword "WordA" returns 344 items and a search for "WordA AND WordB" returns 31 items. However, a search for "(WordA AND WordB) OR WordA OR WordB" also returns 31 items incorrectly.
Cause
This problem occurs because the Advanced Query Syntax (AQS) parser parses the OR and AND logical operators incorrectly when you perform a complex query.
Note The AQS parser is used by the Multi-Mailbox Search feature.
