Symptoms

On a System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Service Pack 2 (ConfigMgr 2007 SP2) client computer that is running Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2012, the Systems Management Server (SMS) Agent Host service (Ccmexec.exe) crashes intermittently and the following error is logged in the Application log:

Cause

This issue occurs because an access violation occurs in the Ntdll.dll module, and then the wrong function is called in the Caltrack.dll module.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install the following hotfix on  the primary site role and client role of System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2. To resolve this issue on the System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2 client, first install the following hotfix package on the System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2 primary site server.
