Applies ToWindows Embedded Compact 7

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You have a Windows Embedded Compact 7-based device that is communicating with a remote server on a network. For example, you run the following command on the device to ping the remote server continuously:

ping -t remote_server_IPNote The placeholder remote_server_IP represents the IP address of the remote server.

  • You repeatedly suspend and then resume the system on the device.

In this scenario, a memory leak occurs in the Rpcrt4.dll module.Note To detect the memory leak on your device, run Resource Leak Detector tool.

Cause

This problem occurs because the cleanup function is not called to release the resources in remote procedure call (RPC) kernel-mode calls.
