FIX: "Cannot get the supported data types from the database connection" error message when you use the Import and Export Data Wizard to connect to a Sybase database in SQL Server 2008 R2 or in SQL Server 2012

Symptoms

When you use the Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise OLE DB Provider to connect to a Sybase database in the Import and Export Data Wizard in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 or in Microsoft SQL Server 2012, you receive an error message that resembles the following:
Cannot get the supported data types from the database connection "Provider=Sybase OLEDB Provider;Password=;Persist Security Info=True; User ID= ;Data Source= ;Initial Catalog= ;QuotedIdentifiers=True".


Resolution
