Summary

This article describes the issue that is fixed in the Microsoft PowerPoint 2013 hotfix package that is dated April 9, 2013.

INTRODUCTION

Issue that this hotfix package fixes

Consider the following scenario:
  • User A uses OneDrive (formerly SkyDrive) or OneDrive for Business (formerly SkyDrive Pro) to synchronize an older type of workbook or a presentation (.xls or .ppt) to a SharePoint document library.
  • User A disables the Internet connection on computer A.
  • User B opens the workbook or the presentation from a web browser. User B then saves the document without making any changes.
  • User A opens the workbook or the presentation on computer A. User A then saves the document without making any changes.
  • There is a conflict for the workbook or presentation when User A re-enables Internet connection on computer A.
  • User A keeps the server version of the workbook or the presentation for the conflict.
In this scenario, although no changes were made to either the workbook or the presentation, a new renamed file is autonomously created in the document library.
