Symptoms

When you create a file or a folder in a Library, the file or folder does not appear immediately. However, after you manually update the Library by pressing F5, the file or folder appears. This issue occurs on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2. For example, assume that you right-click in a Library, you click New, and then you click Folder. In this situation, the folder does not appear. However, after you press F5 or right-click and then click Refresh, the folder appears.

Workaround

To work around the issue, follow these steps:

  • In the Organize menu, click Folder and search options.

  • When the Folder Options dialog box appears, click the General tab.

  • In the Navigation pan, select the Show all folders and Automatically expand to current folder check boxes.
