You have a Windows Server 2008 R2-based computer that has the Remote Desktop Services role installed.
On a client computer, you enable remote audio playback for a remote desktop connection. To do this, start Remote Desktop Connection, click Show Options, select the Local Resources tab, click Settings in the Remote audio section, select Play on remote computer in the Remote audio playback section, and then click OK.
You use Remote Desktop Connection to establish a connection to the server from the client computer.
In this situation, no local audio device is assigned to the session.
Note On a Windows Server 2003-based terminal server, you can see and use the audio device that located on the server during the remote session.
