This hotfix applies to Microsoft Visual Studio Team Explorer 2008 for the following products:
-
Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition Service Pack 1 (SP1)
-
Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Standard Edition SP1
-
Microsoft Visual Studio Team System 2008 Team Suite SP1
Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:
-
You configure Visual Studio 2008 Team Explorer to connect to a Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) 2005 server.
-
You create a test project in Visual Studio 2008.
-
You open the Test View ToolWindow in the test project.
In this scenario, Visual Studio 2008 crashes after the ToolWindow is displayed.
Note Once that Team Explorer is configured to connect to a TFS 2005 server, Visual Studio 2008 does not have to be connected to a TFS server for this issue to occur. For example, if you reopen Visual Studio 2008 without connecting a TFS server, Visual Studio 2008 still crashes in the scenario that is described earlier in this section.
