Let us Fix It for you



Warning: This Fix It only works on the Turkish version of Office 2013.

To fix this problem automatically, click the Fix It button or link. Click Run in the File Download dialog box, and follow the steps in the Fix it wizard.



Note: This wizard may be in English only; however, the automatic fix also works for other language versions of Windows.

Note: If you are not on the computer that has the problem, you can save the automatic fix to a flash drive or to a CD, and then you can run it on the computer that has the problem. Did this fix the problem?Check whether the problem is fixed. If the problem is fixed, you are finished with this section. If the problem is not fixed, follow the steps to run Excel in the Safe mode.

To correct the issue you will need to rename the program file and delete/re-create any shortcuts you may have.

Renaming the program file:

  1. From the Apps menu (Windows 8) or Start button (Windows 7), select Computer > Local Disk C.

  2. From there go to: Program Files > Microsoft Office 15 > Root > Office15.

  3. Right-click on winword.exe and select Rename.

  4. Change winword.exe to WINWORD.EXE.


Create a new Shortcut:

You'll need to delete any Shortcuts you have and create new ones.

Note: Be sure and delete the Shortcut in the Start menu (Windows7) or Apps Menu (Windows 8).

  1. Navigate to the WINWORD.EXE file using the directions listed above in Renaming the program file.

  2. Right-click and hold on WINWORD.EXE, drag it to your Desktop.

  3. When you release the mouse button, select Create shortcutshere.

  4. If needed, right-click on the new Shortcut and Rename it to Word 2013.

Fixing the Shortcut in the Start menu or Apps menu:

  1. Right-click and Copy the Shortcut you just created on the Desktop.

  2. Open the Start or Apps menu and navigate to the Microsoft Office 2013 folder.

  3. Right-click on the folder and select Paste.

  4. If needed, right-click on the new Shortcut and Rename it to Word 2013.
