Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You use an application to perform a backup on a computer that is running Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012.
  • You store the backup files to a volume that is formatted in Resilient File System (ReFS).
  • You try to restore the backup files.
In this scenario, the computer crashes, and you receive the following Stop error message:

Stop 0x00000149 (paramter1, paramter2, paramter3, paramter4

Notes
  • This Stop error describes a REFS_FILE_SYSTEM issue.
  • The parameters in this Stop error message vary, depending on the configuration of the computer.
  • Not all "Stop 0x00000149" errors are caused by this issue.
