This article describes update KB2920754 for Microsoft Office 2013 that was released on March 10, 2015. This update also applies to Office Home and Student 2013 RT. This update has a prerequisite. Please be aware that the update in Download Center applies to Microsoft Installer (.msi)-based edition of Office 2013. It does not apply to the Office 2013 Click-to-Run editions such as Microsoft Office 365 Home. (How to determine?).
Improvements and Fixes
Fixes the following issue:
Assume that you create an Office document that contains ActiveX controls. After you install Microsoft Office 2013 December 9, 2014 security update, when you try to insert an ActiveX control into the document, you may receive a "Cannot insert object" error message, and the ActiveX control is not inserted. Additionally, the existing ActiveX controls in the document are not enabled. For example, when you click a command button that is associated with a Click event, the Click event is not triggered. Important For this fix to be fully effective, you also have to apply the other patches for Office 2013 that are listed in the "Resolution" section of the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
