Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You have a computer that is running Windows 8.1, Windows RT 8.1, or Windows Server 2012 R2 together with a precision touchpad.

  • You log on the computer by using an administrator account.

  • You turn on or turn off the touchpad.

  • You log on the computer by using another account.

In this scenario, you notice that the touchpad setting under Change PC Setting is unchanged. However, the touchpad is turned on or turned off according to how the administrator sets it.

Resolution
