About Play To

Play To is a feature in which devices implement the Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) specification to remotely deliver and control content. Play To helps makes it easy to stream music, video, and photos from a Windows 8.1 device to other devices (such as a television set, a Microsoft Surface device, or a Microsoft Xbox unit) on your home network. In this case, the Play To feature works as a core functionality of the media pipeline.

Symptoms

When you stream videos, music, or photos by using the Play To feature, you experience some issues during photo transition or during the seeking or playing of videos back-to-back. A Play To device can be, for example, an Xbox unit, a television set, another computer, or a stereo system that is connected to same home network.
