Applies ToSQL Server 2012 Business Intelligence SQL Server 2012 Analysis Services SQL Server 2014 Business Intelligence - duplicate (do not use)

Symptoms

Assume that you have a cube that contains unary operators (~) on a regular dimension in Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Analysis Services (SSAS 2012). Additionally, a scope assignment is defined on the dimension members that have a unary operator (~). When you execute a Multidimensional Expressions (MDX) query to retrieve aggregated values on the cube, the result of the aggregated values is incorrect.

Resolution

Install this Cumulative Update (CU) is not enough to have the correct result. Additionally, you have to change the value of CloneCoverItemForClosestWins to 1 in msmdsrv.ini. This parameter can have a performance impact.The issue was first fixed in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server: Cumulative Update 2 for SQL Server 2014 SP1Cumulative Update 8 for SQL Server 2014Cumulative Update 6 for SQL Server 2012 SP2
