Latest updates for versions of Office that use Windows Installer (MSI)

This article describes update KB3055001 for Microsoft Office 2013 that was released on August 11, 2015. This update also applies to Office Home and Student 2013 RT. This update has a prerequisite.

Please be aware that the update in Download Center applies to Microsoft Installer (.msi)-based edition of Office 2013. It does not apply to the Office 2013 Click-to-Run editions such as Microsoft Office 365 Home. (How to determine?).

Improvements and fixes

  • Translates some terms for multiple languages to make sure the accuracy of the meaning.
     

  • Fixes the following issues:

    • When you send an email message that contains a meeting information to a SIP address in Microsoft OneNote 2013 (for example, using the Email Page function or the Share with Meeting function), the email message is undeliverable. This issue occurs if Microsoft Lync 2013 (Microsoft Skype for Business) is not installed and the SIP address differs from the SMTP address.

      Note To resolve this issue, see Email that contains meeting information is undeliverable when you send it to a SIP address in OneNote 2013 (KB3055026).

    • When you try to search a people by using the Search People box in Microsoft Outlook 2013, Outlook 2013 crashes.

    • When enterprise customers open an Office 2013 application on a computer that is configured to use basic authentication, they might be prompted for credentials.

How to determine whether my Office installation is Click-to-Run or MSI-based:

  1. Start an Office 2013 application, such as Microsoft Word 2013.

  2. On the File menu, click Account.

  3. For Office 2013 Click-to-Run installations, an Update Options item is displayed. For MSI-based installations, the Update Options item is not displayed.

  1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search. If you are using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, and then click Search.

  2. Type windows update, tap or click Settings, and then tap or click View installed updates in the search results.

  3. In the list of updates, locate and then tap or click update KB3055001, and then tap or click Uninstall.

Windows 7

  1. Click Start, and then click Run.

  2. Type Appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.

  3. Click View installed updates.

  4. In the list of updates, locate and then click update KB3055001, and then click Uninstall.
