Applies to: System Center 2022 Data Protection Manager

Introduction

This article describes the issues that are fixed in Update Rollup 1 for Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager 2022. This article also contains the installation instructions for this update.

Note: Existing Data Protection Manager to Microsoft Azure customers should upgrade to the latest agent (version 2.0.9249.0 or later). If the latest agent is not installed, online backups may fail, and no Data Protection Manager to Microsoft Azure operation will work.

Issues that are fixed

This update fixes the following issues:

  • Restoration of Hyper-V VMs fail when ISO is attached.

  • Recovering a VMware disk which has a disk excluded recovers all disks.

  • DPM expects registry entry to work over IPv6. DPM can now work seamlessly in a mixed IP environment.

  • Unable to use port 587 for sending DPM alerts and reports via SMTP.

  • DPM 2022 agent silent installation with /q switch doesn't close the terminal automatically.

  • Restoring clustered Hyper-V VMs doesn't honour original configuration file location, prevents restored VM from starting.

  • Adding new client to protection group fails even when enough space is available.

  • Long term backup to Tape crashes DPM with Null ShadowCopy error.

  • DPM crashes on restore to original location if DPM Agent is not installed.

  • When installing DPM 2022 Remote Administration, PowerShell ISE fails to load add-ons.

  • Hyper-V item level recovery fails due to mount timeout.

  • Set-DPMDatasourceDiskAllocation command does not work for volume migration.

Note: A fresh installation of the Update Rollup agent could cause a restart of the protected server.

In addition to the above fixes, all the issues fixed in SC DPM 2022 Hotfix 1 are also included in SC DPM 2022 UR1.

Other Improvements and Features

  • SCDPM 2022 UR1 also has additional new features introduced. For details on the new features, refer to the documentation here.
