SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, you cannot suppress the Autodiscover redirect warning for HTTP and SRV redirections.

How to obtain the hotfix

This issue is fixed in the Outlook 2007 post-Service Pack 1 hotfix package that is dated September 24, 2008. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

How to enable the hotfix

To enable this hotfix, follow these steps:
  1. Close Outlook 2007.
  2. Start Registry Editor
    • In Windows Vista, click Start

      , type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.

      User Account Control permission
      If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password, or click Continue.
    • In Windows XP, click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
  3. Locate and then click to select the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\AutoDiscover
    Note You can also use the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\AutoDiscover
  4. Click the Edit menu, point to New, and then click String Value.
  5. Type RedirectServers, and then press ENTER.
  6. Right-click RedirectServers, and then click Modify.
  7. In the Value data box, type a semicolon delimited list of the HTTPS servers to which AutoDiscover can be redirected without prompting for confirmation from the user, and then click OK.

    For example, you want to allow for the following list of servers:
    • https://adatum.com
    • https://cpandl.com
    • https://contoso.com
    Type the following in the Value data box:
    adatum.com;cpandl.com;contoso.com
  8. On the File menu, click Exit to exit Registry Editor.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
