SYMPTOMSWhen you upgrade Windows Server 2008 to Windows Server 2008
R2, you receive the following error message: These
Windows features might not work properly after the upgrade. We recommend
turning off features before upgrading. Cancel the upgrade, open Control Panel
and search for "turn Windows features on or off". Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 CAUSEThis issue occurs because the release version of Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 and
Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Service Pack 1 are not supported on Windows
Server 2008 R2. RESOLUTIONWindows SharePoint Services 3.0 needs to be upgraded to Service Pack 2 before Windows Server 2008 can be upgraded to Windows Server 2008 R2.
Starting from Service Pack 2, Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 supports Windows Server 2008 R2.
