SYMPTOMS

A dead key is used to generate a character that includes a diacritical mark. When a particular character is associated with a symbol, that character is recognized as a dead key. For example, the ë character is displayed when you press QUOTATION MARK ("), E. When you press QUOTATION MARK ("), SPACEBAR, E, you exit the dead-key mode, and the space disappears. Then, the "e characters are displayed.

However, the dead key does not work correctly in Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF). For example, when you press QUOTATION MARK ("), SPACEBAR, E, the space disappears. But, you do not exit the dead-key mode. Then, the ë character is displayed unexpectedly.
