Symptoms

Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) loopback latency and User Datagram Protocol (UDP) latency in Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 are longer than TCP loopback latency and UDP latency in Windows Server 2003.

This issue affects applications or services that use TCP loopback or UDP for communication.

Resolution

After you install the hotfix, TCP loopback latency or UDP latency is decreased. The decrease is between 5 percent and 25 percent.
