SUMMARY

This article describes the 2007 Microsoft Office system issues that are fixed in the hotfix package that is dated June 29, 2010.

INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • When you view an Office PowerPoint presentation by using PowerPoint Viewer 2007, PowerPoint Viewer 2007 displays the boundary of the text that is inside chevron shapes incorrectly.
  • Office PowerPoint 2007 does not render images that are placeable metafiles.
  • Assume that you open an Office Excel workbook that contains a large amount of shapes in Office Excel 2007. When you move the cursor from cell to cell by using the arrow keys on your keyboard, you notice that the cursor moves very slowly. This issue occurs even the current screen displays no shape.
  • Assume that you open an Office Excel workbook that contains a line chart in Office Excel 2007. The axis of the line chart contains a date. If the date is invalid, Office Excel 2007 does not display the chart and does not report any error message.
  • Assume that you create an Office Excel workbook that contains an elbow connector that connects two shapes in Office Excel 2003. You open the workbook in Office Excel 2007, you reconnect the elbow connector, and then you save the workbook. When you open the workbook again, you notice that the elbow connector becomes a straight line incorrectly.
  • Office Excel 2007 does not display charts when you view the Office Excel worksheet at certain zoom values.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • In Office Excel 2007, you select a chart that contains built-in markers in a workbook.
    • You click the Paste drop-down menu, you select As Picture , and then you click Copy as Picture .
    • On the Copy Picture dialog box, you select As shown when printed .
    • You paste the chart into an Office Word file. Then, you save the Office Word file in the .doc format.
    • You print the .doc file on a PostScript printer.
In this scenario, the markers on the printed chart are rendered in blank squares.
  • On a computer that has 2007 Office suite and Office 2010 installed, you perform one of the following actions:
    • You insert a chart in Office PowerPoint 2007 or in Office Word 2007.
    • You copy a chart from Office Excel 2007 or Office Excel 2010, and then you paste the copied chart into Office Excel 2007, Office PowerPoint 2007, or Office Word 2007.
    • You right-click a chart and select Edit Data in Office Word 2007 or in Office PowerPoint 2007
Then, you receive a message that resembles the following:

To insert a chart, you must first close any open dialog boxes.

Additionally, Office Word 2007 crashes when you paste a range that contains a chart from Office Excel 2010 into Office Word 2007.
  • You have an Office PowerPoint presentation that is published to a slide library that is hosted on a SharePoint Server 2007 server. A slide in the presentation contains a hyperlink on a text that is in a table. When you use the slide library to inster the slide of the presentation to a new Office PowerPoint presentation, you notice that the hyperlink disappears.
  • On a computer that runs Office PowerPoint 2007, you apply the hotfix that is described in Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) article 978400. When you print an Office PowerPoint presentation, you notice that the printed presentation differs from what you see in Print Preview.
