Summary

Microsoft has released a hotfix rollup package for Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2 to correct Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0 problems that are described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) articles:

969454 FIX: Error message together with a System.InvalidOperationException exception when you run an ASP.NET 2.0 application: "Hashtable insert failed. Load factor too high"

970459 FIX: Error message on an ASP.NET page after you submit a form that has the "action" attribute defined after you install the .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 or the .NET Framework 3.5 S970459 : "Validation of viewstate MAC failed"

971993 Description of the hotfix that enables ASP.NET Web applications to support claims-based identities when you use membership providers

974165 FIX: Event ID 2262 is logged in the Application log when an ASP.NET 2.0 Web application becomes unresponsive

974367 You lose session data for requests that are currently running when you configure an ASP.NET 2.0-based application to use SQLServer session-state mode

977104 FIX: The W3wp.exe process crashes when a service operation is implemented asynchronously in a WCF service that is running in ASP.NET 2.0 compatibility mode

You must have Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 installed to apply this hotfix.

Restart requirement

You may have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix when any of the affected files are being used when you install this hotfix. You may not have to restart the computer if you close all ASP.NET Web sites before you install this hotfix.
