Consider the following scenario:
  • User A creates a rule to redirect email messages to User B in a Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 environment.
  • User A sends an email message and includes himself in the recipient list.
In this scenario, Exchange Server 2010 removes the email address of User A from the recipient list in the redirected email message.

To resolve this issue, install the following update rollup:

More information

To work around this issue in Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 and Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, forward the email message as an attachment. To manually forward an email message as an attachment in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, click the email message, click Actions, and then click Forward as Attachment. To forward an email as an attachment by rule, click forward it to people or distribution list as an attachment in Step 1 when you create the rule.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
