When I used the Online Media feature of Media Center Extender on a Windows Vista-based computer, I received an error message: "Video Error"

When you try to use the Online Media or Internet TV features of Media Center Extender on a Windows Vista-based computer, you may receive the following error message:
This problem occurs when a network router blocks the network packets that are sent by an online service to deliver media content such as movies or music. Some network routers block some media-based network packets that are sent by some online services. This article helps you fix the problem.

To resolve this problem, install Service Pack 1 for Windows Vista, and then update the Online Media settings for Media Center Extender.

Step 1: Update Windows Vista (if required)

Install Service Pack 1 for Windows Vista.

Change the Windows Vista registry settings for Online Media.

2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaCenterPeripheral
3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD (32-bit) Value.
4. Type MFNETSOURCE_DISABLE_UDP, and then press ENTER.
5. On the Edit menu, click Modify.
6. Type 0, and then click OK.
7. Exit Registry Editor.
