When you're in a chat, you can send messages that include files, pictures, and links.

Send a link

To send a link, select Format  Teams format icon from beneath the message box, and then select Insert link Link icon from the top of the message box.

Add display text and the address, select Insert, or copy and paste the link into the message box, and then select Send  Teams chat send button icon.
 

Note: Teams has its​ own ATP Safe Links security to verify that any link that you send or receive is safe to choose. As an added layer of protection, we'll let you know about a potentially unsafe link.

View links next to chats 

When you open a webpage link from a Teams chat while logged into Microsoft Edge, the chat window opens in the Edge browser to view the content and chat side-by-side. This makes it easy to view links without needing to switch back and forth between apps.

Attach a file or picture

To include a file or picture in a chat or channel message, select Attach file Teams assignment attach icon from beneath the message box. Then upload a file or picture from your computer or OneDrive.

Send a link

Enter or paste a link into your message box.

Attach a picture

To attach a picture to a message, tap the Photo icon  Take photo for windows icon next to the compose box to take a photo or to open your photo library.

Attach a file

To attach a file to a message, tap the Plus sign  plus sign icon next to the compose box, select Attach  Choose file icon beneath the message box and then go to the file location.

From a chat or meeting, tap the attachment to open it with a Microsoft 365 app. In a channel conversation, tap the attachment or go to TabsFiles.
