يقوم تحديث الأمان هذا بحل مشكله عدم حصانه تنفيذ التعليمات البرمجية عن بعد الموجودة في Microsoft Word إذا لم يعالج البرنامج doe بشكل صحيح. ملفات LNK. لمعرفه المزيد حول الثغرة الامنيه ، راجع المشاكل المتعلقة بالCVE و2020-16933 التعريض في Microsoft. ملاحظة يتم إصدار Acrobat Reader من قِبل شركة Adobe Systems Inc.. لتطبيق هذا التحديث الأمني ، يجب ان يكون إصدار Word 2016 مثبتا علي الكمبيوتر لديك.
انتبه إلى ان التحديث في مركز التنزيل ل Microsoft ينطبق علي إصدار Office 2016 المستند إلى Microsoft Installer. لا ينطبق علي إصدارات التشغيل الفوري ل Office 2016 ، مثل Microsoft Office 365 Home (راجع ما هو إصدار Office الذي استخدمه ؟).

يحتوي هذا التحديث الأمني علي إصلاحات لمشاكل نونسيكوريتي التالية:

إصلاح مشكله تعرض التمرير فوق الحواشي السفلية في نتائج البحث رقم الصفحة ك [page 1] بدلا من رقم الصفحة الصحيح لكل النتائج.

إصلاح مشكله عدم توافق إخراج الطباعة مع العرض علي الشاشة للمستندات التي تستخدم خطوطا محدده.
