In the Templates pane on the right, select the down arrows to expand the categories.

Choose a template. You can try as many as you like. Each choice creates a new page. Right-click to delete any pages you don't want.Â
To set a default template, choose a template under Always use a specific template at the bottom of the Templates pane.Â
Tip: To create a custom template, build the page and select Save current page as template. For info on creating your own calendar template, see Where are the calendar templates?
Applying a template isn't currently possible in OneNote for the web.
As a workaround, you can:

Design a page and use it as a template. Copy the page and add text to the copy, which keeps the original ready to use again.
You can apply a template in the OneNote desktop app.

To open the desktop app, at the top of the ribbon, select Editing > Open in Desktop App.
Don't have the app? Get it for free in the Microsoft Store.
