Connect your Microsoft Band

 

Here’s how to get the Microsoft Band app and pair your Microsoft Band with your phone.



Before you begin

Make sure your smartphone is compatible with your Microsoft Band. For the full list of supported phone types and operating systems, see System requirements for Microsoft Band.


Install the Microsoft Band app on your phone

Step 1:

From a web browser on your phone, tap the link for your phone’s operating system to download the app.


Step 2: Tap the Microsoft Band app, tap install, and follow the on-screen instructions.

Pair your Band and your phone

Adding a Band for the first time


Step 1:

On your Band, press the power button and choose your language.

Step 2:

Swipe left and select your phone’s operating system.

Step 3:

Swipe left and tap Pair now.

Step 4:

On your phone, tap the Microsoft Band app, tap Sign in, enter your Microsoft account

info (email address and password), and tap Next.
If you don’t have a Microsoft account, tap Create account to set one up.

Step 5:

If this is the first time you are signing in to the Microsoft Band app, validate that you accept the Band app Terms & Conditions and tap I agree.

Step 6:

Enter your Profile info and tap Next.

Step 7:

Choose which type of Band you own (Microsoft Band or Microsoft Band 2).

Step 8:

Tap scan now and tap the name of your Band.
This is likely some variation of “MSFT Band.”

Step 9:

On your phone, enter or select the pre-filled PIN code that appears on your Band and tap Pair > Next > Allow.
This will let your phone send notifications to your Band.

Step 10:

If updates for your Band are available, tap Start update, and after updates have installed, tap Finish.

Step 11:

On your Band, press the action button to start. A flashing arrow will point to the action button.

Reconnecting your Band and your phone


If this is a replacement Band, skip to Step 3.

Step 1:

On your Band, tap Settings

The Settings Tile
> Power Power icon > Factory Reset.

Step 2:

Tap Erase all data > Yes.

Step 3:

Press the power button on your Band and choose your language.

Step 4:

Swipe left and select your phone’s operating system.

Step 5:

Swipe left and tap Pair now.

Step 6:

On your phone, tap the Microsoft Band app > Menu  
 > Replace my Band and accept the warning.

Step 7:

Tap scan now and tap the name of your Band.
This is likely some variation of “MSFT Band.”

Step 8:

On your phone, enter or select the pre-filled PIN code that appears on your Band and tap Pair.

Step 9:

On your phone, tap Next

Step 10:

If updates for your Band are available, tap Start update, and after updates have installed, tap Finish.

Step 11:

On your Band, press the action button to start. A flashing arrow will point to the action button.
