You can use the Outlook Address Book—a collection of address books or address lists created from your contact folders—to look up and select names, email addresses, and distribution lists when you address email messages.

Depending on the account you're using, Contact Suggestions use personal contacts, contacts from your organization (such as contacts from a Global Address List), and saved names and addresses you previously used when sending messages. In new Outlook, you have the option to: Use Contact Suggestions | Hide a suggested contact

The Outlook Address Book is created automatically and contains the contacts in your default Contacts folder that lists either e-mail addresses or fax numbers. These contacts are displayed in the Address Book dialog box when you click Contacts in the Address Book list.

The light version of Outlook has fewer features for working with your organization’s address book than the standard version. You can select entries from your organization’s address book or from the Contacts folders in your mailbox.

You can use multiple address books within Outlook and Outlook on the web. You can access your personal Contacts by choosing the People from the app launcher in Outlook on the web or the navigation pane in Outlook.

Outlook allows you to export your contacts to the default Contacts app on Android. This allows you to easily see the name of a contact when you receive a call or text message from them, and view all of their contact information directly in the default Contacts app.

In classic Outlook, click File > Account Settings > Account Settings. On the Address Books tab, pick the address book you want to change the name format for, and then click Change. Under Show names by, pick File As (Smith, John). On the navigation bar in classic Outlook, select People.
