Open and use the address book in Outlook. You can use the Outlook Address Book—a collection of address books or address lists created from your contact folders—to look up and select names, email addresses, and distribution lists when you address email messages.

The Outlook Address Book is created automatically and contains the contacts in your default Contacts folder that lists either e-mail addresses or fax numbers. These contacts are displayed in the Address Book dialog box when you click Contacts in the Address Book list.

Create an address book in Outlook 2013 or Outlook 2016 to look up and select names, email addresses, and contact groups when you send email.

You can use multiple address books within Outlook and Outlook on the web. You can access your personal Contacts by choosing the People from the app launcher in Outlook on the web or the navigation pane in Outlook.

In new Outlook (Insiders) edition, we have updated the experience where it's easy to manage your categories and quickly sort through your contacts. Note: It's not possible to add or manage your Favorites yet. We are working on this feature and it will be available soon.

Create, edit, or delete a contact list (or contact group) in Outlook. A contact list is a collection of email addresses and is useful for sending email to a group of people. If you want more robust functionality with your contact list, consider creating a Group in Outlook.

You can use multiple address books within Outlook and Outlook on the web. You can access your personal Contacts by choosing the People from the app launcher in Outlook on the web or the navigation pane in Outlook.

The light version of Outlook has fewer features for working with your organization’s address book than the standard version. You can select entries from your organization’s address book or from the Contacts folders in your mailbox.

Two-way support ensures that any new contacts you add or existing contacts you edit will be synced between your device and Outlook accounts. For Legacy Exchange accounts, you can export your contacts to be saved to the device.
