The Photos app in Windows 10 uses the magic of OneDrive to put your whole photo collection at your fingertips—not just photos and videos from your PC, but from your phone and other devices too.
Select the Start
Collection view is organized by date, with your most recent shots at the top. To see your photos and videos organized into albums or folders, select Albums or Folders from the top navigation bar.
With the Photos app and OneDrive working together, you can get to your photos and videos from almost any device. Here's how to set that up.
iOS, Mac OSX, or Android. Install the OneDrive app on your device, and turn on Camera Upload in the settings. The latest photos and videos that you take will automatically start uploading.
Windows 10 Mobile. Your camera roll is automatically uploaded to OneDrive by default. If you don’t see photos from your phone in the Photos app on your PC, open the OneDrive app on your phone, select See more > Settings, and make sure that Manage OneDrive upload settings is on.
PCs running Windows 8.1 or Windows 10. Open File Explorer, then drag your Pictures folder from This PC over to OneDrive.
If your pictures are on OneDrive but you still don't see them, check your settings in the Photos app. Open the app, select Sign in (or your profile picture), and then select Settings to make sure that Show my cloud-only content from OneDrive is on.
If you have pictures on a camera with an SD card, or saved to a USB drive or external hard drive, the simplest way to get them onto your PC might be to import them.
Use a USB cable to connect the device where your new pictures are located to the PC.
Select the Startbutton, then select Photos.
Select Import and follow the instructions. The app automatically selects items you haven't imported before, or you can choose what to import.
Help the app find more photos
The Photos app automatically finds most of the photos and videos on your PC and OneDrive. Sometimes though, you might need to tell it where to look.
From within the Photos app, select Sign in (or your profile picture), and then Settings.
Under Sources, select Add a folder .
Browse to a folder on your PC, an external drive, or a network drive connected to your PC, and then select Add this folder to Pictures. Subfolders of the folders you add will be included, too.
