The new skills experience in the Microsoft 365 profile card and profile editor replaces a previous feature for adding skills to your profile. However, you can still access skills you'd previously added even if you no longer see them on your profile card.

Additionally, if skills you previously added included skills that are unavailable for you to add in the new experience, you can still add them through the profile card as other types of profile data.

Manage previously added skills

You can access the previous experience to manage these skills from the current Microsoft 365 profile editor.

1. When viewing your own Microsoft 365 profile card, select Update your profile at the top of the card to open the profile editor.

2. At the bottom of the profile editor, select the link labeled You can add more profile information here. This will open your SharePoint profile editor.

3. On the Edit Details page, select Details to view your previously added skills.

We recommended deleting these skills and adding them instead in the new skills experience, so they appear on your profile card as well as in all current skills experiences.

If you have previously added skills that are not in the list of skills provided by your organization to add to your new skills profile, you can add them to other fields in your profile.

1. On your Microsoft 365 profile card, select Update your profile.

2. Select the About tab.

3. Input the skill you want to add in one of the available text fields, including Ask me about, Interests and hobbies, or Projects.

The content you add in those fields appears on the Contact tab of your profile card, under About me
