Chat with members from your distribution lists, M365 groups, or mail-security groups in Microsoft Teams
You can begin a group conversation with those in an existing distribution list, Microsoft 365 group, or mail-enabled security group with a maximum of 250 participants.

Go to the chat list, and select New Chat

Type an existing group name into the To: field.

Select from a distribution list, M365 group, or mail-security group to add new chat members to the existing group chat in Microsoft Teams.
Notes:

Admin controls to disable this feature are coming soon.

Dynamic distribution groups are not supported.

Adding a distribution group and expanding it in an existing chat is not currently supported.
