Microsoft Teams Free provides meeting options to help meeting organizers manage participation, maintain a safe environment, and ensure smooth meetings.Â
Meeting roles
There are three roles to choose from: organizer, presenter, and attendee. Organizers and presenters share the most permissions, while attendees are more controlled.Â
The organizeris the person who creates the meeting. They can:Â
-
Set up Meeting Options (bypass lobby, who can present, who can share screen)Â
-
Remove participantsÂ
-
Mute participantsÂ
-
End the meeting for allÂ
-
Share their screenÂ
-
Control access settings Â
Presenters and attendees have similar permissions. They can:Â
-
Join via link or lobby
-
Share their audio and video
-
Share their screen (presenters only)
-
Use the chat
-
Raise a hand Â
Note: When setting up a meeting, if someone is chosen as a presenter, they have control over their own audio and video while in the meeting. If everyone is a presenter, the organizer loses the ability to change audio and video settings for everyone unless everyone is removed from the presenter role.Â
