Note: Microsoft 365 Family isn't available in all markets.

You might receive a message from someone you know with a link inviting you to share their Microsoft 365 Family subscription. Once you accept this invitation, you'll have access to all Microsoft 365 benefits such as the premium desktop apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook to use on your devices.

Accept the invite and start using Microsoft 365

Tip: If you're the owner of the Microsoft 365 Family subscription and you want to learn how share it with someone, see Share your Microsoft 365 Family subscription.

  1. If you received an email inviting you to share Microsoft 365 Family, select Accept in the email or select the link that takes you directly to the "You're invited" page in the next step below.

  2. On You're invited, select Get Started. If you're not already signed in, you may be prompted to sign in with a Microsoft account. If you don't have a Microsoft account, create one. You must select the Get Started button and sign in with your Microsoft account before you move on to the next step.

  3. From the Microsoft 365 Family page, select the button Install Office and follow the prompts. For step-by-step help to download and install the apps, see Sign in to download and install Office on a PC or Mac.

Tip: If you'd prefer to install the apps later, or you've already installed them on one device and now want to install them on another, you don't need to do steps 1 and 2 again. Go directly to step 3 and if prompted, sign in with the same Microsoft account you used when you originally accepted the invitation.
