Dragon Copilot terms

  • AI capabilities: Features powered by AI to add value to the clinical documentation workflow within Dragon Copilot, such as note style and customization, content editing, note querying, and prompts.

  • Ambient recording: Process of capturing audio during a patient visit to create a transcript and generate clinical documentation.

  • Memos: Digital scratch pad that can be associated with a specific session to support note creation.

  • Note: Clinical summary of your patient visit.

  • Prompts: A set of instructions or questions directed to the integrated AI to enhance or support the clinical documentation process.

  • Session: A session is a designated area within Dragon Copilot that houses all recordings, transcripts, notes, etc., associated with a specific patient encounter.

  • Transcript: Written version of the conversation between you and the patient.

Your first look at Dragon Copilot

Session list

Each patient visit generates a unique session. Search for a specific session, filter or sort the session list, or delete a session within the session list.

Session tabs

Use these tabs to navigate through a patient session.

  • Timeline is the default view when you open Dragon Copilot.

  • Memos is where you can capture content separate from the note for a patient visit.

  • Note is where you will find the clinical summary of your patient visit.

  • Orders will capture directives pertaining to medications, laboratory tests, x-rays and imaging, and procedures.

  • Transcript is a written version of the conversation between you and the patient.

Settings and more

The icons in the upper-right of the screen contain useful tools with resources and configuration settings.

  • question mark icon in a circle Help and resources.

  • microphone settings icon Select a microphone for dictation and ambient recording, access microphone button settings.

  • Access settings for ambient recording language, Auto-style, microphone, general, style and format, Library, profile and more.

  • Open session details.

  • split view icon Open split view display.

AI actions

Dragon Copilot provides pre-canned prompts as AI actions you can select to support note management, clinical content creation and more. These are available on the Timeline tab and as suggestions at the bottom of every tab.

Timeline cards

Any ambient recordings and actions performed in Dragon Copilot for the encounter/patient session appear in time-stamped cards on the Timeline tab. This is also where you will find all interactions with AI via AI actions and prompting.

Interaction panel

Dictation, ambient recording, and AI interaction via prompting are available in the bottom section of Dragon Copilot whenever supported by your environment.
