Customizable templates must be configured in the DAX Copilot desktop application. Once set up, they can be deployed for use on either mobile or desktop. 

Navigate to customizable templates

Log into the DAX Copilot desktop application and follow these steps to find the customizable templates for the sections that support them. 

Step 1: Select Settings at the top right corner.

Step 2: Select Manage my style to access the style panel. (If you haven’t set preferences yet, the option will appear as Configure my style.)

Scroll to any of the sections that offer a customizable template option:

  • Allergies

  • Physical Exam

  • Assessment and Plan

Step 3: Scroll to any of the sections that offer a customizable template option: Allergies, Physical Exam, Assessment and Plan. Select the  symbol to expand the section.

Then, select Customizable template under Format.

The default customizable template appears. Try using the default template first before making edits. You may find that it already provides the AI output you need for that section.

Notes: 

  • Templates apply only to the specific section to which they are assigned. Example: A Physical Exam template only affects the Physical Exam section. There is no template that covers the entire note.

  • If you do not see a template option in any of the three supported sections, contact your admin.

How to apply customizable templates

Customizable templates can be applied in two ways:

  1. Auto-run: Automatically applies your template to every new recording.

  2. On-demand: Manually apply templates when needed.

How to enable Auto-Run

When a template is set as default in the style panel and Auto-run is enabled, it will be applied automatically for that section in all new documents. 

Enable Auto-run via the Settings menu

In the Settings menu, toggle the Auto-run switch to the On position.

Apply a specific customizable template on demand

When you occasionally need to apply specialized formatting for a particular encounter or situation, you can design a customizable template and apply it to the note section as required, without making it the default format.

To manually select and apply a specific template on demand:

  1. Select Apply (template name) Template next to the section heading.

  2. The Copilot window previews the section with the template applied.

  3. Select Apply Changes to update the Summary.

  4. To revert, select Undo Changes.

Notes: 

  • Templates are available only in the Allergies, Physical Exam, and Assessment and Plan sections.

  • The Apply Template button appears only if the section contains content.

  • All customizable templates are saved as Auto-texts in Dragon and can be used without AI processing.
